Hello, I’m Arden the designer and creator of Guitar Cards. I’m a massive music enthusiast, I adore listening to all genres of music; everything from classics such as The Beatles and Steeleye Span to the contemporary sounds of Lorn and RTJ.

After my first strum of an electric guitar in my late teens, I was hooked. Over the years as my playing skills improved, I wanted to learn more and take a deep dive into music theory. However, I had trouble fully understanding it with the resources available to me, especially how chords and songs are put together.

I began devising a way I could better understand and internalise fundamental musical knowledge, eventually using the circle of fifths to connect playing cards and music theory.

These methods were so simply and clear to me, it made me think, maybe other people experiencing the same problems I was having in understanding music theory might benefit from Guitar Cards.
